Introduction

All BMSE members have successfully attended the full time surveyors course held at the International Boatbuilding Training College at Lowestoft – the only course of its kind available. All of our members operate independently and will provide you with unbiased and professional advice.

Our emphasis is to provide comprehensive reports that give you pragmatic advice. They are written in a clear and understandable format, aimed at the boat owner. We carry out a thorough series of inspections and tests and we describe the results as found. While all members work to a similar format and standard, each member will offer different services and specialities.

BMSE was formed to allow an exchange of information between surveyors, thereby allowing each surveyor to draw on the specialist expertise of others. This free exchange via internet forum, wiki has proved helpful to our members and their clients on many occasions.

Present BMSE Membership requirements are as follows :

- Passed the IBTC Surveyors Course
- Holds Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Is a Practicing Surveyor

So why use a BMSE surveyor?

You will know that your surveyor:

  • Has passed a thorough practical course including theoretical examinations.
  • Must submit reports on a regular basis for continuous assessment.
  • Will carry full insurance.
  • Will provide a comprehensive and detailed report.
  • Will keep up to date with one of the most active and informative surveyor forums in the world – where the sharing of  information can only help provide a better report for you, the client.
